Quinn and the Democrats in Springfield still have not heard the message of 2010. Well to be fair we in Illinois did not learn the lesson of 2010. We of the Tea Party and 912’vers groups tried, tried and tried again to stop this, but most of our Illinois voters did not follow our lead and voted for Illinois business as usual. They returned these bad leaders to Springfield again. Those leaders once again did what they wanted not ‘We the People’ wanted them to do. Meanwhile the mood in the U.S. is still dispirited. "The middle class, in particular, feels under assault. Americans are saying they do not think they will be able to maintain their current standard of living. The can-do country is convinced that it can't anymore.
And yet, we may be witnessing a new political dynamism. The Tea Party's reflects anything but fatalism, and maybe even a new high-spiritedness. After all, we of the Tea Party are only two years old and we just saved a political party. One fact of 2010 election is that this is was a fully nationalized election, and its core values are based on truth and common sense.
Nationally we stiffened the GOP's spine by forcing them to see that we are a nation in crisis. The Tea Party leaders have no conventions but it does have a theme: stop the spending, stop incompetence and unneeded regulation.
With this new Illinois tax increase we will not send more letters/emails phone calls to our state leaders. They have already discounted us. They view us as a fringe movement, astroturf or silly tea bag waving nuts. If we remain united and more public in our actions we will become stronger. Now is the time to grow this movement. Now is the time to bring our protest to Springfield and the local town halls. We must let the other Illinois citizens know that acceptance of this dictatorial rule in this state must STOP. Those that voted for these bad leaders need to see the error of their way and join us in stopping them.
We have the right to peaceably assemble. We have the right to petition the government for a redress if our grievances. We pledge to work for our ideals though nonviolence protest. Nonviolence protest is constantly seeking to persuade the opponent that they are mistaken. We must do this with Springfield until they see that we are not going away and we are not going to let them off the hook for these newly voted laws.
We of the Tea Party must once again believe and agree that with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other: Our Lives, Our Fortunes and our Our Sacred Honor.
